The Chairman of the league David Wolff has today said "I am, on behalf of the Management Committee, delighted to inform you that the M(GB)SFL  have secured a new association with the Jewish Charity Familial Dysautonomia UK ( FD-UK ): http://fd-uk.org/

We intend promoting this Charity through all our social media forums and for them to be represented at all our events and I would ask you, wherever possible, to ask all your players to promote them.

It is most important for us that we are linked not only to Maccabi GB but also the wider part of the Jewish Community, and we are looking forward to a long relationship with this extremely worthwhile cause.

Our new associates at FD-UK are introducing themselves to you below and I hope you welcome them with open arms and support their activities wherever possible"

Familial Dysautonomia UK is delighted to be involved and associated with the Maccabi (GB) Southern Football League. Our aim is to raise both awareness and funds for this life-limiting and debilitating Jewish genetic condition, which primarily causes dysfunction of the nervous system.

The funds we raise help to support individual medical needs, provide important supplements, and pay for expert overseas medics to hold clinics and guide UK doctors in this specialised area.

Dr Shara Cohen, Chair of FD-UK, said: "Being associated with the Maccabi (GB) Southern Football League is a really exciting step forward for FD-UK and we can't wait to watch the coming season unfold. This will be a crucial relationship enabling us to raise awareness of the FD condition to a critical age bracket in our community.  In turn we hope this will enable more testing and more vital funds to be raised to help those suffering with the condition in the UK".
